Gateway Park Des Moines, Iowa (July 5-6-2013) During our coverage of 80/35 2013 I captured images of a few of the many photographers that were documenting Iowa’s premiere festival.  Yes our own Paul Adams is featured.  He shot about every band at the festival. Photographers from various area publications, music blogs and the bands’ photographers were in the pit(s), the crowd and roaming the festival grounds.  I have covered several festivals and after 2 days you get to know others who have spent their time running from stage to stage. The main stage drew the most action, especially David Byrne & St. Vincent and Wu-Tang Clan. Being in the pit looks glamorous but in reality it is crowded with everyone attempting to get that perfect shot. Wu-Tang Clan even added an element of surprise for photographers in the pit by  showering us with champagne and water during the first song. No photos of the shower available.
